East-coast legends, Wu-Tang Clan, will perform Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers from beginning to end. Considered one of the greatest MCs of all time, Rakim is set to perform 1987's Paid In Full, his first full-length album with Eric B. Fellow Golden age, east coast rapper, Slick Rick will conquer, The Great Adventures of Slick Rick. Released in 1989, this debut album became a certified-platinum classic topping the Billboard's Top R&B/ Hip Hop Albums charts. Highly regarded as "The Teacher", KRS-One is a hip-hop culture advocate, music producer, MC and published author. Hailed as one of the best live performers, KRS-One will perform Criminal Minded, the 1987 trend-setting album sampled music from various genres including rock, reggae and funk.
Other anticipated performance highlights of this year's festival series include Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine. He will take the stage with his own critically acclaimed musical project. Morello and Boots Riley, front-man MC of The Coup, comprise the Street Sweeper Social Club. The complete list of participating artists for the tour follows below.
Aside from musical performances, Freestyle Session will be bringing out b-boys and b-girls to showcase their talents. The top international breakdancing platform will be incorporated into Rock The Bells to bring a world-class lifestyle atmosphere and to support all forms of hip-hop arts. The festival has also teamed up with non-profit organization, Hip-Hop and Hope for Haiti. Although the bright lights of mainstream media attention have dimmed as it relates to the disaster relief efforts in Haiti, Rock the Bells and Hip-Hop and Hope for Haiti are committed to long term fundraising efforts.
"This time of year is always filled with anxiety, excitement, and even relief," says Rock the Bells founder Chang Weisberg. "Rock the Bells fans have the craziest expectations and the days and nights leading up to our initial announcement are surreal. Ultimately, our goal is to always present something that is historic. This year's show is the epitome of that tradition. Some things new and fresh, some things classic and legendary, and something that you've never seen or may never see and hear again. That's the formula. I am excited for this year's festivals and hope everyone is as hyped up as I am. As always, we will announce a few surprises and keep our fans on their toes all the way up to the day of the show."

High Speed Border Patrol Chase Ends in Irvine
SAN DIEGO -- Authorities say a man led Border Patrol agents on a 100-mile chase from the U.S.- Mexico Border to the city of Irvine before the driver and six suspected undocumented immigrants stopped and surrendered.
A Border Patrol agent spotted six men jumping into an SUV in the border city of Otay Mesa early Saturday morning, according to Agent Michael Jimenez.
When another agent tried to pull the vehicle over, it sped away onto Route 905 and then onto the Interstate 5 freeway, reaching speeds in excess of 100 mile per hour, authorities said.
The driver pulled off the freeway onto the Culver Drive exit in Irvine around 2:25 p.m., where Border Patrol took all seven people in the SUV into custody.
No one was injured in the chase and no damages.
The suspects are expected to be processed and returned to Mexico.
LAPD Officers Injured When Patrol Car Goes Airborne
SOUTH LOS ANGELES -- Two Los Angeles Police Department officers suffered minor injuries in a crash that sent their patrol car airborne and onto some parked cars in South Los Angeles.
The crash was reported just before 11 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Florence and Vermont Avenues.
Two officers were inside the car at the time of the crash. The officers were responding to a back-up call, according to Sgt. Valenzuela, watch commander for the LAPD's 77th Division. Investigators say another car apparently "cut them off." The patrol car's lights and sirens were in use when the crash occurred, Sgt. Valenzuela said.
The officer swerved to avoid a collision, hit a curb, went airborne and crashed through a brick wall and iron fence. The patrol car landed on top of two parked cars.
No one was inside the parked vehicles. Both officers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
LAPD patrol cars have been involved in several other accidents this year.
In April, an LAPD cruiser was involved in a fatal accident in Sylmar.
That's when, according to police investigators, a driver made a U-turn and was broadsided by a police cruiser.
A woman in the car was killed.
Two officers were injured.
And in February, 2 LAPD officers were injured in an accident in Jefferson Park.
Police investigators say the officers' cruiser had its lights and siren on when it collided with another car.
The driver of the car was not injured.

Port approves South Bay development plan
CHULA VISTA, Calif. - The South Bay moved one step closer Tuesday to creating a major bay front development that many in the county and city of Chula Vista have longed for.
After a three hour meeting that included public comment, the port commissioners voted to certify the 12,000 page environmental impact report for the Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan.
"The city of Chula Vista has been after this for 34 years," said Mayor Cheryl Cox. "It was in the 70's that the first plans came forward."
Dozens of people spoke before the commission and gave their support. A handful voiced their opposition.
"The decision we are making today on behalf of the Chula Vista bay front is the highest decision that I will make as a commissioner," said Port Commission Chair Dukie Valderrama.
The project plan included hotels, a convention center, housing, retail, nearly 200 acres of open space, and habitat enhancements to the waterfront. Even environmental groups, who were initially opposed to the idea years ago, have given the plan their stamp of approval. The plan included three districts - the harbor, Otay and Sweetwater districts.
"In fact, there will be 80 acres of open space and parks on just the Sweetwater district alone," said Laura Hunter, a member of the environmental health coalition. "Ten years ago, that was proposed for 3400 residential condos."
Next the plan must be presented to the State Lands Commission and the California Coastal Commission.
"Hopefully when we go to the next level we can get the approval and break ground in another year," said Valderrama.

Bun B Injured After Falling Off Stage At Gumball 3000 International Road Rally But Refuses To See Doctor: ''I Cant Afford To Miss The Gumball''
Bun B is one of the numerous celebrities participating in the annual Gumball 3000 International Road Rally, which is scheduled to cover 3000 miles across Europe and North America in eight days. And although the rally has gained a reputation for showcasing exotic cars, instead of focusing on speed racing, the Texas-born rapper managed to injure himself in an unlikely situation this past week.
In a statement, Bun B explained that he did some damage to himself during a pit stop in Stockholm, Sweden. "We were all going on stage and it got kind of crowded. Someone fell onto me and I ended up falling off the stage and I split my knee open and sprained my ligaments in my right arm," Bun wrote. "The problem was the injury happened at 4:30AM and we had to get on the bus at 8AM to catch the plane to America. If I had gone to the hospital I would have missed the flight so someone gave me Extra Strength Excedrin."
Despite his injuries, however, Bun says that he's hesitant to seek medical treatment for fear of being disqualified from the rally. "The is the 4th day since the injury and I still haven't gone to a doctor. I can't afford to miss the Gumball," he said.
Participants will complete the final leg of the 3,000 mile race between Niagara Falls and New York City, this week.
Shyne Says He's Prepared To Flop "I Don't Care If I Only Sell One Album"
Shyne Po emerged from an eight year bid in prison a new man. He changed his name from Jamal Michael Barrow to Moses Michael Levi to reflect his conversion to Judasim.
His rap style also changed dramatically. Some have attributed that to his long lay off, but Shyne claims it was done on purpose, record sales be damned.
He recently told HipHopDX:
“[People] should be happy that I changed…I was monotonous and angry,” he explained. “I can’t give them that old sh*t. That anger you heard in the booth was really me. It was like listening to someone with Post Traumatic Stress [Disorder].”
“I’m comfortable with mine,” he continued. “I figured it out, but I’m not a communist. People want that sh*t, but I can’t give it to them in the old way.”
Whoa, wait a minute, post traumatic stress disorder, not a communist? We are are talking about rap, not war right?
Anyway Shyne wasn't done. He's heard the internet buzzing with negative comments about his comeback with songs like "Messiah".
“I’m not no f**king magician,” he says “You gotta make that sh*t. It’s about having character and integrity. I don’t care if I only sell one album.”
Somehow, I don't think L.A. Reid over at Def Jam is happy with what he's hearing from Shyne both on record or in interviews.
