Bulletproof Lyrics......

“You tough emcee’s ain’t really saying nothing”---Lord Finesse

This quote makes a lot of sense to me. I mean, really think about it. If a lot of these rappers today were doing what they supposedly say they were doing, wouldn’t they be in jail serving a 10-15 year bid? I mean, if you get caught dealing drugs, robbing someone at gunpoint or threatening to murder somebody, your gonna serve some time right? I’m just trying to make some sense of these lyrics I hear pretty much every rapper on the radio saying. If you’re carrying guns and ready to murder somebody, you got issues man. Yeah, maybe I have a bias opinion because I’m into more conscious hip hop, but what I’m saying is pretty damn apparent. I don’t want to name no names, but I’ve seen certain gangster rappers claiming to have done dirt in the past and continue this lifestyle as a rapper. Yet, these same guys have security with them anytime they go out in public and won’t step foot in a venue unless they have VIP access?? Last time I checked, being gully meant you go in public alone and go to any venue or store through the front door. That’s just my interpretation of what I hear on the radio today.

Let me know how you feel about this subject. Should rappers rap about fantasy lives or just keep it real and rap about there daily grind???

Check yo self before you wreck yo self!

We all have friends like this and it’s time to set it straight. So you’re a single dude just doing your thing. Meeting chicks and just having fun. Eventually you’re going to get to a point where you might pursue a relationship with one of the females you talk to. So tell me why you have that one buddy that tries to tell you that you got no game because you’re trying to start a relationship. He says that you’re getting soft and that you should be smashing mad girls instead of just one. All the while this dude is married and has been married for like 5-6 years! How can you take someone like that serious?!! They’ve been out the game for years because they married there high school girlfriend. So in actuality, this dude has no game at all. He practically retired that card when he was in high school. All I’m saying is check your self son! You can’t bag on me, you been out the game for a century already. I take in nothing you say, cause you don’t know what your talking about!

If you got a wack friend like this, tell me how you really feel!

Fake Sport Fans are WACK!

Alright, so I had to let it be known....if you don't watch sports or if you do watch sports, but only stick to one sport like baseball or football, that doesn’t' mean you get a pass to bandwagon on a sport you don't watch or know anything about. Here is a prime example, so everyone that knows me personally, knows I'm a die hard San Diego Charger fan. I was born and raised a bolt fan and will be till the very end of my existence. So yeah, I was beyond pissed off after our playoff loss to the Jets. But the difference with me is that win or lose, I'm still sticking with my team. The part that doesn't make sense to me and to be honest with you, made me want to tell everyone to lose my cell phone number was the fact that people that I know or talk to here and there, were texting and calling me telling me "GO JETS" or "CHARGERS ARE GOING TO CHOKE". None of these people even watch football and if they do, it's just because it's the thing to do at the time. They have no love or knowledge of the sport, yet they want to put there two cents in and act like they are a temporary football fan. Well, what do I say to that? I say to all you fake sport fans watching sports cause the jersey's are cute to you or because you significant other is a true sports fan and you are forced to watch it, keep you mouth shut. Stay on the sidelines and be the cheerleader that your were meant to be. And that goes for guys too, don't act like you know football when you don't, you can go do your cheerleader thing too......that's all I gotta say, but if you have an opinion about my point of view, I would love to hear it...

Alright, so if you haven't seen in blogs, videos or Hip Hop articles, Opio (a member of the bay area crew Souls of Mischief) commented on the state of hip hop and he said its fail is rappers like Soulja Boy. I mean, Opio has his own opinion and you gotta respect that. He just said Soulja Boy is a gimmick and has no meaning in Hip Hop. I can agree with what Opio is saying to a certain point, I mean, anything Soulja Boy raps about or even refers too is pretty much irrelevant in the real world. Any his songs have no lyrical content. Soulja Boy could never freestyle or even come up with 16 bars without saying "Soulja Boy Tell"em". Pretty wack, but the part I do respect about Soulja Boy is the way he found a niche in the Hip Hop world and banked on it like crazy. I mean, that's a true hustle. So you gotta to give it to him for that. So even though I would never buy or probably download a Soulja Boy album, I can't knock him for hustling his brand and stacking crazy chips!

What are you thoughts on this new era of hip hop??

Who deserves the GAS FACE title...

Yeah, I'm bringing back the "GAS FACE" term because it needs to be done. If you’re not familiar with the term, Google the group 3rd Bass and check out there 1990 single called "GAS FACE". That will explain the whole meaning pretty clear. So here are a few people or things I think deserve the "GAS FACE".

--to all the producers and creators of this new "Reality show" epidemic, yeah they definitely deserve the GAS FACE! Who cares who Ray J thinks will be his next jump off girlfriend. Who cares if a washed up Rock Star finds love. Who cares if you’re able to lose weight on national television. You ALL get the GAS FACE!

--Charles Hamilton definitely deserves the GAS FACE for mentioning J Dilla on his album credits. Read up on this incident if you haven't already and you'll agree with me. DJ Houseshoes will explain it for you on YouTube if want the truth.

--the new “Louie bandana" and "Gucci rag" fashion trend gets the GAS FACE. Unless your name is Pierre and you live for NY Fashion week, take the wack rags off.

So, these are just a few of the people and things I think deserve the "GAS FACE". I want to hear who or what you think deserves the GAS FACE. Speak on it son!

Beat Making Intervention

So I want to know how many people have the same problem I do. I think about beats, samples and drums 24/7. I can be at work listening to the radio or my IPod and all of a sudden I hear a sample, drum loop or horn that I know I can use for a new beat. My train of thought at work is now gone and my full concentration is now on that sound. My whole day is now dedicated to making use of that sample once I get my hands on my MP. This is just one so-called problem I supposedly have. I feel like I'm normal, but the people that know me personally think I'm too into music. Why is being so passionate about something considered a problem?? People dedicate their life to something they are very passionate about, so why can't I dedicate mine to music. Maybe making music is not as prestigious as being a Doctor or a professor, but I can wake up every day and know that the beat I made the night before was something "I" created. I'm sure a lot of producers and DJ's feel the same way I do. So if you suffer from the following:

--Constant insomnia because you have a sample stuck in your head.
--Cramped fingers because you've been working on the same beat for like 6 hours and the pounding on the sample pads has taken its toll on your fingers.
--Walking out of a room or ending a conversation because you heard a sample on TV or a radio station and you want to make note of it in private
--Losing touch with friends or family members because you are in deep concentration like Primo

If you suffer from any of these symptoms, then you are a perfect candidate for Beat Making Intervention and we would like to hear from you. Beat Making Intervention, where you are surrounded and supported by people just like YOU.

J Dilla--The King Of Beats

J Dilla, Dilla Dawg, Jay Dee, whatever you want to call him; he is the undisputed king of beats. Why do I proclaim him the king you ask? Well, who else could flip the Gary Numan song "Cars" and change it to "Trucks"? Who else could make an instrumental album while being treated in the hospital? Who else could go on tour in Europe and spit rhymes from a wheelchair?Dilla did. I can list a so many other reasons why J Dilla is the king of beats, but true Dilla fans don't need an explanation, they just know. I've been fortunate enough to become friends with Dilla's younger brother, Illa J, and on one visit to Yancey Boys Studios, Illa J asked if I would like to hear some of Dilla's beat tapes. Would I??!?!?!?! Hearing straight Dilla beats for an hour or so was probably the most defining moment in my life. The feeling I got can only be compared to a mother giving birth for the 1st time. I felt like musically, I was reborn. The beats were so grimy and hard, yet classic and soothing at the same time. It's hard to explain, but it had that kind of affect. So to all you non Dilla fans, do some research and study up on Dilla to enlighten your music catalogue. I guaranty you will not be sorry. To all the devoted Dilla fans, I wanna hear your story on how Dilla inspired you.
RIP J Dilla!!!!
